4 March 2018 - we just received an email from this couple who has sold their BTO flat last year!! And they told us that their Home Reno Final Photos shot by us helped them to sell their flat which made us really happy for them. And so they have requested for us to do their next home too. So watch out for a up and coming EC in Yishun which this couple has just recently bought.

Reno@Bt PJ Maisonette - Reno Updates

This is our first update on the Bt PJ Maisonette. The reno started on an auspicious date - 10 Dec 2013.
Most of the floors (kitchen, bathrooms and balcony area) and wall hacking permit have been approved, now leaving the new dining area where it used to be the helper's room needs a floor hacking permit approval.

 Electrician is here to do some wirings over the weekend!

There's a drop between the kitchen and living area now because we are keeping the existing granite flooring in the living area and staircase.

The balcony tiles are laid already. The IKEA couple has chosen a dark wood look here. Looks pretty!

Here's a look at the bathrooms updates. All the walls are finished in a warm and honey tone, similar to a travertine stone look for a lux look.
Left: bathroom downstairs, leaving floor tiles to be tiled now. Right: common bathroom upstairs where the ikea couple decided to have no alcove so all the water pipes leading to the mixer will be left exposed along the walls, a trade off due to space constraint.

Above are 2 photos of the Master bath where we will be doing the full alcove wall for the shower items and the floors are finished in a dark graphite grey.

Ritey, below are some mood images found online of travertine walls for bathrooms which we hope we can achieve similar looks.

Stirling HDB Terrace - Family Area --> Dining Area

we have just installed a ceiling fan at our family area over the weekend. The plan is for the dining area to be located here once the baby arrives. The cot is currently tucked at the previous dining area which will be converted to a room soon for my helper and the confinement nanny will take the spare room for a month.

think when my parents come over for xmas this tuesday, they will be in for a surprise!

Reno@H Maisonette - Concepts and options

The design calls for a space which is bright and cheerful. The idea was to break away the kitchen and common bath from being the 'centre' of the flat. The walled up kitchen 'blocks' up the flow of spaces from the dining to the living. Hence, by removing some of the kitchen walls, we can open up the whole lower floorplate and to allow continuity and visibility from the entrance all to the way to the living areas.

Next was to integrate the balcony with the yard space by using the same floor material. We chose a wooden deck that is both warm and creates an outdoor feel on the feet.

Besides planning for the lower floor, there are some options which we are studying for the daughter's room for the platform bed. The platform bed not only elevates the sleeping area like a tall princess 4 post bed but creates extra storage underneath. It will also be a fun experience for the princess!

Reno@H Maisonette - Sneak Peeks

Here's another one of our maisonette homes which is going to start renovation soon! Their target is to finish only the hacking works before the Chinese New Year, so there will be a stop in between the long holidays so there will be some lag in their reno updates till their final completion photos.

we are keeping the existing marble flooring here! so all the renders are showing the colourful marble flooring which is so retro and unique. i think it's quite a beauty.

And the missus of the home is suggesting to use Caboche lights for the dining area which i think it's a marvelous idea because it just adds that bling to the new place! Below is a mood image of how these beautiful Caboche lights look like in real photos. I think they look spectacular where you put them above the dining table of just at the kitchen bar counter.

Reno@Yishun - Sneak Peeks to final photos!!!

I'm posting these snippets of the Yishun flat, it's near completion now leaving the last installation of the customised dining table. The dining lights have already been installed on site and aren't they the prettiest thing!?

Can't seem to get enough of these Tom Dixon lights although I admit they are found in many homes, but it's because they are so pretty which is why they are so popular too!
