Stirling HDB Terrace - #79 External Updates

WHERE HAVE THE SOIL GONE TO?

front patio, the soil has been cleared to make way for concrete topping before laying our timber striped deck. YAY!!! This will take some time though cos the boundary red brick wall is not finished yet....plus we have some floor level issues going on here...think contractor is planning to raise everything by 150mm!!! Serious flooding issues have been reported around the area and contractor is not playing a fool.

Planter box in the yard being plastered here. Things are starting to look more promising now.
^_^

And the mystery of the missing soil - It's placed beside our unit where it sits in a pile. We are going to reuse/recycle this pile of soil in our planter box.
waste not, want not
.

Piles of debris has been collecting beside our place too! look at the white bags piling in the corner!!! It belongs to us! and the recent scorching hot weather has dried up the palms by the side our wall too.

Stirling HDB Terrace - #78 Toilet Updates

MASTER TOILET
the tiles are almost finished!!!! OMG. contractor calls and asks us to buy 60 more pieces of tiles for our toilet. sob sob, there goes another $360!!! But i'm sure my toilet will end up pretty and at the end of the day, it's worth every penny!

almost done now...

our planter is starting to take shape now.

and our plumber has laid the pipes for our rainshower plus the right bath-tub has been delivered too! Previously the wrong size was being delivered, a bigger one than the one we ordered and of cos it wouldn't work!!! Cos our master bathroom is small!!! and we can't have a bigger bath-tub.

Stirling HDB Terrace - #75 Yard Updates

Stirling HDB Terrace - #74 Switches

wondering does all this makes sense to you?? Well as long as my blur-like-sotong electrician knows what he is doing, I'm fine....just the other day, he was referring to an old floorplan while planning our electric wiring till i said..."erm, this floorplan is old"

uncle will telling our cement guy to 'fatten' up this wall here cos it's not straight from top to bottom.

Stirling HDB Terrace - #72 Sanitary Mixers

TOILET STUFF!
We ordered our mixers from this place: Bretz Celebrity Bath & Locks. The lady called Michelle attended to us and she was very helpful!! Really nice lady, took the time to explain to us how everything works from mixers, hand shower, rain shower, down to advising us the length of hose we should take. She's one lady you can go to!!!

Plus with Citibank credit card members, there is a 25% less on your overall total bill!

Stirling HDB Terrace - #69 Feng Shui 風水

SOMETHING I LEARNT ONLINE

Well, it's not something which you have to follow. But i thought it was quite interesting and if it's for the better, might as well, where possible, try to have a better feng shui for my house! Here are some tips which i found online.

It’s easy to “map” your bedroom according to Feng Shui principles so you can create more harmony in the bedroom. Here’s how:

1. First, draw a roughly square outline of your bedroom on a piece of paper. The wall that has the primary entrance to your room in it should be the lower line of the square.

2. Divide the square into nine equal squares, three rows of 3 squares each.

3. Start with the lowest row of squares, that describes the areas when you first walk into your bedroom. The far left corner of the room when you first enter is the area of Knowledge. The center square relates to Career, and the right-hand square is Helpful People/Travel.

4. Now look at the central row of squares, that describes the middle of your bedroom. The far left square relates to Family/Health. The central square is the Tao, or Center, and the right-hand square is Creativity/Children.

5. Lastly, look at the top row of squares. The far left square relates to Wealth, the central square to Fame/Reputation, and the far right square to Relationships/Romance.

Your layout should look something like this: and in this grid are the good-to-have items to help 'boost' up the space.

MORE 3D SKETCHUP
on our toilets!

think i should find a place to put a potted plant somewhere.

here are some of the Feng Shui tips i read online:

A proper Feng Shui bathroom is neat and clean, has ample lighting and good ventilation system. Put up lot of mirrors to reflect chi and help it move smoothly all over the bathroom. If the bathroom is located in the center of the home and flushing away your money, place a full-length mirror on the bathroom closet door to create an illusion that bathroom is not there and deflect any chi that tries to escape through it. Salvage the chi ready to flush out from the toilet by placing fresh flowers and floral arrangements in an alcove above or near the toilet or a bowl of pebbles above the toilet tank or a shelf above the toilet and put a red or black rug at the base of the toilet to avoid loss of money. Make sure that you do not let money waste by allowing fixtures in the bathroom to be dirty or faucets to drip or leak.

the last thing i'm worried is our bathroom is above our kitchen area, so here are some stuff which i found!

On an upper story directly above the front door or above the kitchen.

1. Put an uplifting picture or statue (a bird, a tree) in the area underneath the bathroom.

(hmm, this one shouldn't be a problem)

2. Hang a faceted crystal from the center of the bathroom ceiling.

(think crystal chandelier in the toilet?)

3. Put an earth-related object (a crystal, terra cotta vase, or stone) in each corner of the bathroom.

(shall get some small pebbles?)

Stirling HDB Terrace - #68 Red bricks

APPREHENSION. APPROACH. AMAZEMENT

approaching our place and we noticed that our boundary wall is partially up! and the red bricks are so prominent where we were standing. A little pride swells up in me.

taking a further look inside, some of the tiles in the toilet are being laid over the afternoon while i was working! Although the progress is slow, but i don't really mind it at all, cos we don't really have time to overlook the progress of our house everyday. In fact, sometimes i think it's not a bad thing that they are 'slow' such that at least we wouldn't be too 'late' if we need some rectification works to be done.

Stirling HDB Terrace - #67 US!

latest update!
after my site meeting, wj and I decided to head down to take a look at the progress of our flat before the sun sets. And our brick wall is half way up.
