Reno@Trivelis I - Balcony Storage Bench

The balcony storage bench that sits silently. Blending into its surroundings. With a woody laminate top that complements the dining table, its body is finished in a cement looking grey laminate that almost "melts" into the backdrop.  Design in totality and holistically.

completeness.

Reno@H3 Maisonette - Tiles selection

A total of 15 different tiles.

[BACKPOST] - Tiles were selected way way back, probably 2 weeks ago before the couple went on a holiday.

In case you are wondering where we got our tiles from, there are from Hafary (balestier branch). Not that we are particularly attracted to the heavy make up, long hair, short skirt and high heeled ladies but the chosen contractor's preferred tile shop is them. I particularly don't really fancy their service. Or is it because I'm of the same gender as them so they really bo-chup me?

They have another branch in Eunos, a showroom which carries more tiles than you can ever imagine. I think i can get lost in their rows and rows of tiles! Think of it as an amusement park for those who want to go tile shopping!

Not suitable for the fickle minded. You probably can't decide which tile you want and end up confused.

Reno@HollandD - Bookshelf

 “Books on the bookshelves
And stacked on the floor
Books kept in baskets
And propped by the door
Books in neat piles
And in disarray
Books tucked in closets
And books on display
Books filling crannies
And books packed in nooks
Books massed in windows
And mounded in crooks
Libraries beckon
And bookstores invite
But book-filled rooms welcome
Us back home at night!”
― L.R. Knost

we can't fill a bookshelf but we definitely can suggest a good one. ~ velle

I hope this bookshelf will be a good home to many good books!

Reno@HollandD - Bathrooms!

Common bathroom vanity area - curve semi recessed sink
White solid surface countertop with 1 piece mirror cabinet on top

Master bath vanity area - slightly longer with some open shelves.
A square semi recessed sink with 1.5 leaf mirror cabinet above.

Above: How it looks like from the shower area - overview of the new shower wall, glass partition screen and vanity area. I know it's an awkward angle but sometimes it can be really quite hard to get a good shot of everything in the bathroom because the space is so tight! And I'm not a professional photographer. hah!

Reno@Sunshine Court - Light holders in progress

It's midweek and the reno progress is coming along smoothly. The light holders are in progress. The aircon trunking has been laid for the living and bedrooms.
Quick overview of the light holder in the living.
A/C trunking running in the bedrooms as there's no box up provision for trunking. So instead of the usual trunking running along the common corridor which will require box up, we are running it in the bedrooms.

Are there any new homes that can survive without A/C installation nowadays?

The temperatures in Singapore are getting hotter and hotter every year. Some days when I get home, it can feel the heat trapped in the flat. OMG i really want to turn on the A/C immediately. That being said, if anyone can invent how to magically make the A/C trunking connect "wireless" and drain off like evaporation. That would be the noble prize winner.

Home@Stirling - PH5 lamp by Poul Henningsen

Recently we were doing up a flat and we introduce the PH5 lamp to the owner who went and did his research and found a shop that sells the real deal in Singapore!

The PH5 Lamp is designed by Danish Architect Poul Henningsen (hence the name PH5) and are carried by a lighting manufacturer called Louis Poulsen, a danish company that was founded in 1874. They are very famous for their PH5 and artichoke lamps (another favourite lamp of hubs).

The Louis Poulsen PH 5 Pendant represents the original design from Poul Henningsen. The PH 5 consists of three reflecting shades that illuminate the lamp downward and laterally, creating 100% glare-free light. This is 100% true as I personally saw it at the showroom. We requested for them to turn on the PH5 lamps for us to take a look at the lighting effect and you cannot see the bulb!

The PH5 gets its name from the diameter of the top shade, which is 50 cm. The PH5 Pendant is wet-painted in a matte finish with purple or bronze-colored struts between the shades. The Louis Poulsen PH50 Pendant are finished in high-gloss white or colored version with aluminum struts,

Back to this shop in Singapore...it was having a close door sales event for all lights including the PH5 at 50% off! And this event was only open to designers. That's the catch!

End of story?
We bought one for our client as requested and bought 2 for ourselves because hubs has been eyeing this lamp for the longest time.

can't wait for the lamps to arrive next month!
