Reno@Bt Timah - Final Photos

a tactile experience.
come. walk with us!
The entrance proper - a very modern simplistic black gate versus the wainscoting looking door with an old fashioned door handle. The floors are finished in a raw cement screed bordering a monochrome peranankan tiles, adding much visual simulation to the eyes. Drawing lesser attention, the shoe cabinet is done up with an overall black frame with lourved doors for the much needed ventilation that is required.

The dining area was crafted out from an in between space. The big challenge at the start was the many flying beams across this space and the need to close up the kitchen yet maintaining its visual connectivity. To create a nordic look, white washed wood flooring coupled with brick texture wall, white and neutral tones were kept in mind throughout the entire conceptualization of the design.

a grey accent wall creates an anchor for the eyes.

view of dining looking towards the brightly lit kitchen.
psst...there's our casserole pot of potato gratin on the table!

the wind in her hair.
such fun!

Fishbone staircase.
Letting loads of daylight penetrating from the living areas.
Common bath downstairs is done up with neutral looking wall tiles while the bathroom upstairs are finished in marble looking tiles.

 crisp as the morning sun.

i'm off to bed now.

Reno@Bt Timah - Final photos of Upper floors

The master room has 2 separate wardrobes located along 2 different walls with the master bed as the centre of the vision line. To the end of a corner window,  a small study area was placed for some night work and storage. The TV is hidden in one of the wardrobes with ample storage behind the tv to make full use of the deep wardrobe space.

Ensuite - wall hung WC with vanity area and a long shower cubicle.
Counter space above the WC to put all things nice!

Loads of storage for the master bath to put all the necessary items within reach.

Let's take a look at the Princess' room!
As the room was not in a usual square or rectangle, we have done up a simple study area at the funny corner to address the room. The design for all study table are kept minimal - stationery drawers and top cabinets for storage. The laminates which we have chosen were the same for all the bedrooms to keep a consistent look throughout.

The room is decorated with coloured stickers, adding character, youth and a touch of femininity to the space. All in all - A very sweet and simple girl's room.

A walk along the corridor.
Pattern tiles to give depth and texture to the overall white space, accentuated by a row of tracklights above.
At the beginning of the corridor leads to the study window area, bringing light into the area.
 Here's where the owner works!
ledge along window area finished in the same wood laminate as the study table.
The common bath is done up the same way as the master bath. A special request from the owners to have the shower wall located at the end of the shower area instead of having it together with the shower rose.

That pretty sums up our home tour at Reno@Bt Timah.
Have a great long weekend everyone!

Reno@Bt Timah - Carpentry almost near completion!

Kitchen updates
most of the swing doors and drawers are installed on site. Leaving the kitchen backsplash and countertop. All glazing works are completed too. All kitchen carpentry have coloured internal finish.
Magic Basket
here's a quick demo on the magic basket just in case you folks missed out the previous posts on how to use dead corners in kitchen.
 1. Here you can see 2 tiers of wire basket on the left. So what happens to the right of the cabinet's space?
 2. The 2 tier wire baskets can be pulled out.
 3. As you pull the 2 tier wire basket to your left even further, taduh!!! here comes another 2 wire baskets which was tucked right at the far end dead corner of the kitchen cabinet. It's quite a good contraption right? Well at least it's good enough for me. But take note, the smallest size for these baskets come in minimum of 400mm. So make sure you have at least that kinda of space to cater for these baskets.
Loads of storage in the kitchen. I think we have a total of 10 drawers and the rest are swing door cabinets. (approx about 23 swing doors? )
The roof is completed!!! and so is the false ceiling. Now we just have to install the windows to make it weatherproof.
A look at the wood tiles which we are having throughout the entire living and dining area.
 Helper's room - wardrobe.

electrical faceplates bought by the home owner.
Upstairs updates
All the wardrobes are almost completed with all the drawers and hanging rods installed. Leaving the sliding doors.
Here's the daugher's study table, albeit a funny corner but there's ample storage for books, stationery and the like plus a good working desk to study on.
 Study table with cable management

For the bottom study, we have one swing door, 3 deep drawers and 2 skinny drawers for notes and pens. All finished in a woody internal finish.
pretty black drawer tracks on the sides.
The study desk is finished in all wood laminate border with all the swing doors and drawers finished in white laminate.(except the skinny drawers)
Master wardrobe updates
Here's the master wardrobe with open shelves for bags. All the sliding doors are in white laminate and an ivory coloured internal finish. I'm only showing one of the 2 wardrobes. If you have seen my previous post, there's another wardrobe with a built in tv and secret storage compartment!

drawers for folded clothes.
the whole place is coming together really nicely and really hope it continues to work that way.
just to cap this post off...tata from the both of us...
here's a pic on our happy and dusty feet!
