Happy Vesak day to all my readers and today we are updating on 3 of our current projects, starting with Kim Keat cos it's nearest to my place. haha.

Morning the entrance steps to the flat was screeded to receive wood planks. By afternoon, it was almost dry.

 And there was our usual guy who was plastering the windows

Here's a look into the master room and voila! Look at the photo below at how huge the master room has become after knocking down the store room and joining it together with the master.

See the grey colour patchy wall that turns up onto the ceiling? that used to be the store room's wall and it's been hacked off. The new store will become the walk in wardrobe! Also a store room actually. A store for clothes.

All the room floor tiles have been laid and protected.

Reno@Geylang - a hint of the place

Yes, it's another Tuesday!
Picking up from my last post, we have a new project in Geylang which is moving along steadily. We are almost near the tail end of the design stage and moving towards the big reno. The drawings are all completed and quotations have been called. Should be seeing more progress on the actual works soon.

For this flat, we are doing something different again because of the family nucleus mix. Our usual clients are those with young children so we always have to be mindful of the design for safety and colour mix - less glass and brighter colours. However this time, we are doing something geared towards an industrial and retro interior. Thus we are adventuring out to other material palettes which includes raw wood, metals, neutral colours of grey,beige and of course our favourite and very versatile black and white.

Reno@H Maisonette - Study Table & Book Shelf

Thought it would be nice to start the week by showing you all some pretty pictures of one of our projects in Hougang. I'm one that has a penchant for lovely bookshelves and I personally think this one which we did for the H Maisonette is a lovely! Don't you think so?

I especially love the combination of the raw concrete laminate and woody grains. I totally dig them and think they are quite a nice match! Plus the overall colour is in our favourite white. If budget allowed, probably we could do a full length wall of this! Think it will be awesome and quite a show piece. But it will require maintenance to clean the shelves...something which is quite tedious too. So at least we got our client willing to maintain this floor to ceiling high bookshelf for now.

 here are some pictures of the lovely detail and colour

 besides the bookshelf, we also did a 2 pax study table for the family of 4.

The top cabinet is finished in white with dark woody interior and the bottom study desk wrapped in a similar dark wood laminate.

Just wanted to say that I can't wait to post our H Maisonette Final Photos but it has got to wait because Jay is gonna go for a 2 week reservist (our Nation beckons him!!!) and we really have to postpone taking final photos of our Hougang and Bukit Panjang Maisonette Projects.

Reno@Buangkok - Shower Alcove completed, false ceiling up

 a young couple's home
so fast a week has gone past and here are some quick updates on our BTO flat reno in buangkok. Both shower alcoves in the master and common bathroom has been completed with the shower ledges fixed.  The common bathroom feature wall has a lovely fine grain to it while the master feature wall is a bold and striking grain that gives a bespoke look.

The false ceiling in the bathrooms really do add that touch of polished look in the bathrooms. Don't you think so? It's so much better than the grid looking ceiling boards which HDB has provided.

Here's the feature wall of the master bathroom. It has a running tone, looks quite "rustic" and somehow from the pictures, it has a very resort feel to it, albeit it's in grey colour.

 False ceiling in the master bathroom is up as well and you can see some A/C trunking here.

 Parquet laid too in the corridor leading to the master room.

Box up all done up to hide the awful A/C trunking. The A/C was runned by an electric megastore and it was a shoddy work. Gave our contractor more loose ends to tie up. The A/C trunking was laid the easiest and shortest way, the workmanship wasn't fantastic either. Plus the trunking was hung loosely from the ceiling so our contractor had to use brackets to bolt it tight to the ceiling before he did the box up and the false ceiling.

Here's a little something different and extra character to this place - the cement screed finish wall in the kitchen! The couple wanted a feature wall and they told us that they would love to have a cement screed finished wall and so here it is!

Carpentry is going to start next and that's almost the final leg of the reno.

Hi there!

Hope you all had a good holiday weekend. Well, we had a very busy weekend visiting all our reno sites and dropping by my favourite furniture shop IKEA to do some quick retail therapy! Let me side track a little cos I really want to share with you folks if you are a bird cage lover and an avid IKEA fan...well. that's it. IKEA is selling decorative bird cages!!! and i bought a black one. :)

ok back to our reno updates.

The Toh Yi maisonette wood frames are installed, staircase is undergoing some building works for the curb and plastering. Most of the false ceilings are up, partition walls are up too.

Reno@Kim Keat - Tiling 50% completed

Kitchen floor tiles completed. We are using a concrete looking floor tile here.

 Bathroom wall tiles completed too, leaving the floor tiles now.

 Yard wall plastered. Looking very smooth and neat now.

Reno@Sembawang - Tile selection

It's a public holiday in Singapore again! And considered a long weekend if you have taken leave for friday thereby rendering you a 4 day rest week. Now that's a lo...o...o....n...g.. break!  So before a good break, I always feel that I should do more work.

So today I'm clearing all my backlogged posts.
Starting from last weekend where we went tile shopping for the BTO sembawang flat along Balestier road. We picked up a lovely wood tile for the bedrooms, grey hues  for the bathrooms, a super white tile for the living and subway tile without bevel for the kitchen backsplash.

Next, we have started on 2 new projects where you can read the intro here and here.
