Hi peeps!

Just a quick update before i fly off for my quick get-away!!!
Dulux is in the house finally to give my place new spruce of colour and paint. I'm so excited!!! By the time i come back, everything will be clean and white and of cos there will be some walls with exciting colours which WJ and myself have chosen with our colour consultant.

it's so exhilarating!!! i dunno whether issit the holiday or the makeover!!!

Of cos, the normal fluffy, soft carpet looks good on your floor and even soft to the feet. Or maybe the shaggy looking one with strands of silver threads. But do you really want to be the same as everyone.

Seriously, almost every house warming which i have attended for the past months have been using shaggy rugs. You know those run-of-the-mill kinds. Almost every new HDB flat has one.
Well, this blog is here to tell you that there are many other kinds of carpets out there people!!!

So don't succumb to the flow. Well at least not for me.

IN SEARCH OF MORE LIGHTS
the electrician will be installing the final lighting for our new place this coming Tuesday. So it was a mad rush this afternoon, trying to settle the last few lights which we haven't purchased-- not very sure what we wanted yet needing to buy one!

We needed one for the staircase area, an outdoor lamp plus another one for the toilet.
After walking up and down Balestier, with skies looking ever-so threatening, we finally finished our purchases. It was such a rush thing,some stores didn't have stock, some couldn't deliver by Tuesday, some didn't have stock in the store for us to take-away.

So in the end, hubs has to come down again tmw to self-deliver the lights to our place.

I'm so excited!!! and here are some of the designs that interests me, but of cos i'm just showing one of the many interesting and provocative ones here. WJ and i always wanted to have a painted tree on one of the walls. We were thinking of painting it ourselves and secretly i was thinking of painting SG's MRT tracklines on my study area (serious). And now Dulux is going to sponsor us wall decals!!! That's fanta-bulous!!!!

I've always loved Audrey Hepburn. So classic and pretty. Modern yet still with a twist of classic. Ironic. And the cutesy monkey hanging from a banana tree. I think this would go lovely with the dedicated cot room cum space which we have set aside in our master room. But i dun think hubs is very keen on having something monkeying around.


A bamboo decal - very neat and oriental. The one which we really really love is the one on the right!!! Strong,bold and very graphic.

More decals on trees, branches and twigs + leaves. Still thinking how to go about our tree.

I think the red tree is fantastic! Fuzzy looking with plenty of details. It isn't the ordinary graphic kind of look.

Stirling HDB Terrace - #139 Heavy Rain

WATER PROBLEMS


heavy downpours accumulated on the sliding door tracks and inevitably started streaming into the kitchen areas. And this lead to water seepage into the subsequent guest room. And my parquet floors are wet!!!

called Uncle Will immediately when we saw the water coming in. Told him of the problem. Now we are going for some rectification works. Going to remove both sliding doors in the kitchen and guest room and build a new curb to prevent water from acccumulating and flooding inwards.

sigh. renovation is going to be here for some time.
