Sorry for the lack of updates over the week! Has been a really hectic week for me juggling going to site, working from home and looking after Jules. My parents who are the caregivers for Jules have gone for a 2 week vacation in Europe to attend my sister's wedding!!! Yes and I can't attend it cos I'm too big to fly over now... and her fiance proposed to her while i was trying to conceive. Obviously I didn't tell my now-bro-in-law that I'm trying to get pregnant!

anyway...3 months into pregnancy, when it's the time to let everyone know that i was pregnant, they set the wedding date. I guess it's all fated. But I will see my sis soon cos she's coming back for the Lunar New Year!

anyway back to Toa Payoh's reno progress.
Thursday was the big day where all the carpentry were delivered to site and Friday started the installation works.
The electrician is here to pull the loose wires while the carpenter is set to work.

Home@Stirling - Teppanyaki dinner

we love eating teppanyaki at restaurants and even local foodcourts. Unfortunately, there are not many foodcourts with teppanyaki nowadays. Now we love it even more doing it at home at our new family dining area where it's near our front patio where we get loads of breeze coming in this spring season!

so here are some photos of our sumptous meal to share with you all!!!

Spring is in the air!!!
although i know there are no 4 seasons in singapore but don't you think the weather is kinda breezy with light showers now? It's so spring time and the sunlight is so nice as compared to 2 months ago where the rain were coming down in torrents and everywhere was like flooding.

i hope there's a spring to your step when you walk out your door!

Reno@Toa Payoh - entrance tiles

yes I'm blogging at 5am in the morning because of a mozzie attack since 3am and she has kept me awake till now. Hubs didn't managed to catch it because she's too elusive for him and she has bitten me on my forehead which swelled to the size of an overgrown mentos, which is quite large for my little head. I tried to cover my head with a blanket but almost suffocated underneath it. She bit Jules 3 times on his little arms, but god bless the little fella who continues to sleep without any itch at all.

so here are some updates on the Toa Payoh flat since I'm wide awake after a hot shower.

As the carpentry is still off site in progress, we are currently doing up the entrance area with the pattern tiles. I think after a good wash it will look terrific!

Reno@Bt Panjang Maisonette - More electrical works to be done

 TGIF! weekend is approaching, so no noisy reno works for the next 2 days. Here's looking at the progress of our Bukit Panjang Maisonette. The water storage heaters are up and so are most of the windows leaving only the toilet ones. The false ceiling for the toilets to be fixed up first before the windows go up.

Meanwhile in other rooms, the trunking is being on the ceiling. The loose wires will be pulled within the next 3 days though it might stretch longer as there's quite abit of electrical works going on here. Our contractor says the electrical guy will be here for the whole week.

All the casement windows for the rooms have been installed. The IKEA couple has chosen white framed windows, it looks kinda blackish at the moment because of the black coloured protective plastic around it.

Reno@Bishan Maisonette - concept and ideas

The idea brings a fresh new concept to the meaning of eating together in nature. The dining area where the family will eat together is moved to a more outdoor and open space with fauna & flora. As the couple wanted a garden theme concept for their new place, we embarked on a bold move to extend the balcony further inwards toward the original living area. The proposed planning augments the green living dining area which is partially opened to the natural outdoor environment. With the use of timber decking, probable timber wood rafters and skylight, we hope to achieve a more natural garden alfresco dining theme.

the living will be swopped with the original dining area to a more private and enclosed space where the family can enjoy their home entertainment instead of just directly in front of the main door as what the initial HDB has planned for.

Reno@Toa Payoh - Laminates chosen!

 here are the laminates which Cath Kidston mum has chosen for her Toa Payoh flat.

The kitchen will be finished in a light silver for the top and dark silver at the bottom.

The laminates for the baking area, tv console and dining cupboard will be all be finished in the same laminate for consistency and a thematic look.

For the master wardrobe, we are trying out a weave fabric laminate for the frame and off white for the doors.

Sorry for the discolouration in the photos as these where taken during night time.

Reno@Bt Panjang Maisonette - Windows and plastering almost there now!

 Lower floor windows are installed - powder coated white frame windows.

 plastering done at the staircase area. Looking very smooth and neat now.
