see how our carpenter has continued the side of the cabinet to the underside of the top cabinet in wood laminate? Looks really good huh!! It's like framing a window - fixed glass that looks out into the living room.

Reno@Punggol II - Air con works completed?

I took a lot of courage in writing this post and I believe sharing is caring. I hope to pass my home reno experiences down to every home owner because not everyone gets to renovate their homes that many times and everyone wants to make sure that everything goes right and smooth. So first I just want to apologize if this post might hurt anyone's feelings.

This is a first for me. I've never seen an aircon works considered completed with the insulated pipes left exposed like this in the corridor leading to the bedrooms. Now we have to discuss with the contractor on how to box up all these black looking pipes and the amount we need to spend to do the box up and painting.

I'm not sure how much our owners have saved on the aircon works but unless they are willing to leave these exposed, they now must spend a bit more money to box up all these insulated black pipes. If not they might have to persuade their aircon supplier to put in proper trunking to cover up the pipes entirely.

This is how the insulated pipes are being held up at the master bedroom bath entrance. It's being held up by plastic PVC covers at intermediate spacing apart and the plastic supports are not even cut up straight and neat.

Anyway, i always see the positive side of things!!! 

I'm sure after the box up, the flat will look pretty in no time. Plus the carpentry is already in fabrication and our electrician will be here this week to start installing the lights.

We have finished running all the electrical wirings, light holders and box up for the aircon. So this week, painting was in progress and have been completed. Carpentry is going to come up next so definitely will see a great difference in this space to come.

Above: The living room has a lovely light grey shade on one of the walls. Grey is like the new black this year.

Above: painted the skirting dark grey and it's almost a perfect match to the existing sliding door frame colour! I think the missus has a really good eye for colour!

 The grey skirting is continuous with the door frame colour at the corridor area too!

 aiyoh. Painter only painted one wall blue when I told him to paint all the 4 walls blue....

Owner did a new door closer for the main door.

Busy Month and Happy Mid Autumn Festival!

To a Busy Start
We are starting on 2 new maisonettes this week. So watch this space for new updates on them. We have just finished tile selections over the weekend so it was tile shop after tile shop. Time passes so fast and end of the year is coming where many renovations are starting and hoping to complete by christmas, the New Year and CNY.  Yup. Quite a few projects are in the pipeline, some waiting to start straight in 2016. All I can say is "Busy is definitely a good thing!"... keeps us on our toes and make us want to spend more time with the kids.

You know how it is... the busier you get, the more you think you have little time to spend with your family? Well that's how I feel! So no matter how tired I am at night, after a day's work, I will still find time to give my sons a kiss and story telling time before they hit their pillows. And once they are asleep, we start working again on our computers.

FYI. My 2 sons had a real swell time carrying their traditional lanterns made of paper, lit by a candle. Especially my eldest son, he was running crazy with his lantern. super excited. made my father-in-law hyper ventilate because he was so worried that the lantern would burst into flames. He told me that next year, he's going to buy the electric ones for the boys....hahaha....
