bits. blops and ugly ugly air-con piping!!! Unfortunately we really can't hide this fella away. Since I can't hide it, i will just have to learn to embrace it.
air con pipe travelling down the wall beside window.
This is probably not the pretty corner of the apartment.
above: more air con piping along the walls.
The junction where it meets above is a real big headache.
view of the corridor that leads to the bedrooms
above: master room, quite a tight width but we will work around it.
Most of the rooms are walled in dry wall partition as it is a cleaner, safer and definitely a dry construction method. Supposedly faster, more efficient and productive as compared to the hollow block walls.
However I really miss the old traditional brick laying because that texture is so beautiful and personally I feel that craftstone is unable to replicate it 100%.
above: girl's bedroom.
above: Home Office
2 sides full solid wall for storage and low wall with glazing for daylight to stream in. We really want to capitalise as much daylight as possible into the rooms. We are having some ceiling issues and so unable to install a ceiling fan in the office. Most probably will have to resort to a corner ceiling drop down fan...
above: other view end of corridor. Bedrooms on the left.
above: entrance proper
where we are planning for a row of ikea bookshelf to be placed on the left.
We love IKEA totally and especially their incredibly low prices when it comes to carpentry. Truthfully, my carpenter is unable to match IKEA prices as IKEA fabricates modular systems on a large economic scale whereas my carpenter customised every nook and cranny of the home to fit the carpentry in. Therein lies the hidden costs!
above: master bath vanity area.
Unfortunately this part of the home is unable to get any natural daylight in.
above: yard leading to the rubbish chute.
Currently still in a total mess and we are already into week 6 of the reno.
ritey. stay tuned for more updates.
Hopefully more to come at this coming weekend!
