Reno@Segar - Carpentry started!

This has got to be one of the busiest months we had. Sorry for the lack of updates on our Segar BTO but things have been moving really fast and furious and it's almost near completion already. We are targeting to handover end May which I'm quite optimistic about. The electrical works, wet works, painting and partition works have all been completed over the last few weeks. Leaving the carpentry and plumbing works which is done usually at the tail end after the countertop has been installed, so the plumber only needs to come once to fix the kitchen sink and tap together with the bathroom shower mixer, sink, tap and WCs.

Yup. And my helper is coming in tomorrow!!!! YAY!!!!
so I hope things at home will be a lot easier for the both of us. We are just beat to death after we picked up the kids, feed them, shower them, pack their bags and stuff and wait for them to KO on their beds!!!

Reno@S Maisonette - Carpentry and upstairs vinyl flooring has started!

This week, overall there's been quite a good progress! Lots of stuff are happening around here. Different groups of people are all working together to get the reno done.
  1. Main door and lockset installed
  2. The gate guy was here to do measurement
  3. Carpentry started
  4. vinyl flooring for upstairs has started too, should finish in one day or two.
  5. Shower mixers installed
  6. Glass partition works commenced

Shower glass partition up!

Shower mixer installed
vinyl flooring in progress

The original chosen flooring was out of stock and this was the 2nd option which looked really good too! The colour is so close to parquet that it looks like real wood. Once the flooring is done, the skirting will be next. Hopefully soon, cos only when the flooring is completed, then we can start to do the carpentry works upstairs.

stay tuned for more progress updates!

Reno@HollandD - progressing slowly....

added a kerb here between main door and gate for fengshui.
Tiling works has slowed down quite abit these few weeks, as there was a fatal accident and the demise of our tiler. It was so sudden and shocking that I didn't even realised the friendship that we had for these years has just ended. Life is so short. And Life must continue....

more electrical works in the kitchen. Great!
Now that the electrical works are completed, the air con guys can come in soon.

Reno@Segar - Kitchen options

a new beginning for a family of 3 + 2 grandparents in a 4 room apartment

WANTS
the grandparents want the side by side fridge
the mother wants a cafe bar countertop which takes up 50% of the kitchen counter space
the grandparents wants a close kitchen
the mother wants an open kitchen
OMG.
@_@

Mathematically speaking, that leaves the other 50% of the kitchen counter to house the stove, double bowl sink, countertop convection oven and the huge fridge.  It just doesn't add up. There's not enough counter space to work with.
Some things have to go or compromise.

NEEDS
sink
stove
proper working space for food preparation

The truth is hard to bear. But lucky thing, the father is willing to compromise. They probably will get a smaller fridge but it's still relatively sizeable. The oven has to go to the "cafe" bar counter and sits less one person.

Reno@TY Maisonette - Painting

Latest updates!
Painting works are completed, going to install the T5 lights soon together with the other light fittings. The bathtub upstairs is coming along nicely too. Flooring for the upper floors are scheduled to come in end of this week. Once the flooring is in, the carpentry can start to come in, which will take another 2 weeks plus as maisonettes have the most carpentry, which means takes us to end of May already! And there are other works like glazing, installation of the fan coil units, WC etc....

Last but not least we need at least 1 week for the countertop guys to come in for measurement and a few days to fabricate off-site and install. And only after the countertop is done, then we can do the installation of kitchen sinks and taps, same goes for the bathrooms.

running out of time.

Reno@Trivelis II - electrical works

Quick visit here to see how the electrical works have progressed so far. Things are in quite a rush for our reno@Trivelis II.  The task was to finish everything within 3 weeks, but it's really quite impossible for us to finish everything for works including electrical, painting, partition works, carpentry and cleaning up.

But we try our best to speed things up.

Reno@Trivelis - Painting

hello!
it's mid week already. how time flies. this week, painting has started and it's completing soon. Once done, we will clean up everything before carpentry starts. That's when we start to see more happenings in here. And things starts to take shape.
