Reno@Trivelis II - Renderings

A family of 4 with helper came to us for space planning as the new flat is very compact. I find that the kitchen is really small, so small that I agree with the wife that she doesn't have enough storage space to hold her pots and pans and electrical appliances! Well, we are here to help!!!

And because they only have 3 bedrooms (the 2 boys will each have their own room) with a small living, there's a need to find a sleeping area for the helper too. So we really cracked our brains to find a space for her.

Latest Updates of Renders (May 2015)
Both the sons' bedroom configuration has changed quite abit due to tight constraints after we visited the flat. And we have added in the Fengshui blue and red colours into the sons' carpentry.

hubs was being dragged by our contractor to come take a look at our TY maisonette...because "uncle" is afraid even though we have positioned our fan coil units on the floor plan, he still wants us to double check on site.

overly cautious. in a good way.

hubs didn't manage to take many photos cos he was in a rush and the priority was to talk about the tile setting.  So above are 2 photos of the tilers doing the wood tiles at the entrance foyer area. This is going to be the "hotdesk" where the family eats, do homework, do work...everything!

Reno@Towner Maisonette - Bright and brighter!

This week, masonry works are in progress - new walls are being erected, loads of sand on site. We are creating a guest room on the lower floor, so the timber door frame for the guest room has been installed.

new walls are up and new timber door frames

new guest room! lots of daylight coming through the windows.
kitchen - screeding works in progress before we can start to lay the wall tiles

upstairs - wall hacked! so nice and bright!!!

It's really quite something. This comes with time and money in case you are wondering if this is an ordinary hack. Well it's not. Usually we will prep our home owners that to do this kind of wall hack is a long process with the relevant authorities. Not that we are discouraging home owners from doing it but to give them a heads up that the renovation will take longer due to more coordination work between the authorities, engineer, contractor, subcons, us and themselves.

once it's done, the results are fantastic!!! Don't you think so? The space is immediately illuminating with daylight and flooding into the stairwell.

ritey, will end this post with 2 more shots of the interior space of the newly hacked room

Reno@TY Maisonette - one month's progress

This week, all the walls have been patched and made good. Lots of plastering works were done to make everything flat and smooth. The toilet wall tiles have been grouted too.

The half height kitchen wall is looking very smooth and the flying beam above it.
Above: view of kitchen and staircase underside - all plastered smooth.

For the upstairs common bathroom, after we hack an existing wall away, we found that the floor surface was not flat to receive the new flooring. So our dear contractor has to screed it smooth before it's ready to receive the flooring. Here's how the amoeba shape screed look outside the bathroom!

 Bathroom walls all grouted.

staircase flooring completed too. contractor using making tape to hold all the floor tiles in place...looks like many big pieces of plasters!

Reno@S Maisonette - hacking works completed!!!

YAY! Finally the wall at the newly purchased recessed area has been approved for hacking. And look how much difference it makes to the overall kitchen and entrance space!!!
 Future dining and kitchen area

We have added 2 retro looking wall blocks to ventilate the common bathroom downstairs.
Upstairs, the bathroom wall tiles have been grouted.

bedrooms window wall areas and ceilings all patched and plastered good!
Next comes painting, more electrical works and aircon works. And we are using vinyl flooring for the upper floors.

So stay tune for flooring works!
