Reno@Kovan Maisonette

By the time we left the Kovan Maisonette, all the false ceiling were done. These photos were taken before my lunch so there were some patches here and there not fixed up yet. The carpenter was late or rather he had a mixed up with the address, so we went to eat first and came back to the flat later.

Above: the big hole which we need to cater for in the false ceiling to allow the db box to be open-able. The other problem was because of Fengshui, we need to house a 6 inch round ceiling light 3-4 feet away from the main entrance door. That's why the false ceiling is boxed up this way to house the trunking of the round ceiling light.

Above: another problem. The big vertical pipe smacked right in the centre of the kitchen (the floor to ceiling pipe on the left of the photo). Got to box up and integrate this tall fella with the carpentry.

Ritey, today we pretty much summed up most of the works.

The glass supplier came and go through all the glassworks - kitchen glass panels, door panels, bathroom door, shower glass partition, railing and lastly the door handles for the glass doors.

Next we went through the final setting out of the electrical works because the owner wanted to add 2 more ceiling fans upstairs, relocate the aircon unit in the master, add a ceiling fan at the dining area.

Last was the carpenter. He was quite apologetic about getting to the flat late but a very nice guy. Maybe because he was very very late?
Anyway we went through all the carpentry works from bathroom vanity for both the master and the common toilet to kitchen carpentry, service yard and finally the tv console feature wall. The last one was the upturn curb for the glass railing which is covered under the carpenter.

  1. Hi I was wondering how much did you install your shutter for? Do you feel any pros and cons after installing it? I am considering to do it for my own em.
