Reno@Clementi - Hack, New Walls, Lay Tiles

Tuesday.
A week into the reno. Hacking completed. New walls are in progress, tiling works have commenced, water pipes laid, new windows installed.

tiffany blue must be a big hit back in the 80s or 90s? 

Because I swear I have another one of my ongoing reno projects in this similar shade.

Going to start screeding and plastering all the new walls!

Reno@T2 Maisonette - Floor tiles completed

6 days has passed since we last visited here...
Yup. finally the entire living and dining floor tiles have been completed. Now it's just a small portion of the floor tiles left in the balcony area. All the 3 bathroom floor and wall tiles have been completed as well. Soon we are going to start on the electrical and ceiling areas and we are here today to go through one round of electrical works and lighting points with our dear electrician.

and before you know it, carpentry will start!

Last week, we had newspapers all over the place, covering the skirting and floors. Today we get to see the full picture! And it looks really nice. Bright, white and woody - a combination that wouldn't go wrong.

Now that the painting has completed, the floor covering has been removed and we are going to clean the parquet.

 really lovely wood grains here. things are starting to fall into place now.

can't wait for the carpentry to come in next.

Reno@Shelford - Another hacking site!

It's amazing how the Ghost Festival has such an impact on renovations! It's either to start before the hungry ghost or to start after the hungry Ghost. So during the month of Hungry Ghost, I'm hoping I don't have to blog on any hacking updates which is the usual first thing to do in a renovation.

anyway once the Hungry Ghost Festival is over, everything will pick up again and everyone will be gearing to complete their renos before Christmas or New Year. Those with children would want their renovations to complete by school holidays so that they can shift in and settle their kids.

yup. we need a holiday too. *hint hint*

Back to our reno at Shelford. The difficult thing about renovating condominiums is accessibility. It's not as open as HDB (you need special pass, permit and they are a lot more stringent on the renovating hours, sometimes you need a PE just to hack a wall!) and parking is not cheap. But for home owners, you can expect all your electrical wirings to be concealed nicely into the walls, install wall mounted WCs and have powerful kitchen appliances that wouldn't trip your apartment.
